Grande Prairie Friendship Centre is Temporarily Closed Due to Fire Incident

Grande Prairie, Alberta-June 14, 2024-The Grande Prairie Friendship Centre would like to inform the public of a fire that occurred at our 10507-98 Ave location on June 11, 2024, on the evening of June 11, 2024. Thankfully, the fire occurred after business hours with no injuries.

The fire department responded promptly and managed to contain the fire, preventing further damage to the building and neighboring properties. We are currently working closely with local authorities and fire officials to determine the cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damage.

However, due to the incident, the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre (10507-98 Ave) will remain closed to the public until further notice. This closure is necessary to ensure the safety of our visitors and staff as we undertake a thorough inspection and necessary repairs.

We understand the inconvenience and challenges this may present to the community and those who access the Centre. We are committed to reopening as soon as it is safe to do so.

In the meantime, we encourage our membership to visit our Facebook page (Grande Prairie Friendship Centre) for changes to scheduled events and services and for updates on our reopening as they may be available.

We would like to express our deep gratitude for the swift response by Apex Security and the Fire Department, as well as the understanding and support of our community during this time.

We look forward to seeing you again when it is safe to do so.
