About the Position

The On-Campus Friendship Centre is a resource available to students at Northwestern Polytechnic (NWP). The On-Campus Friendship Centre is open to all students and provides a warm and welcoming environment for students to connect with each other, meet faculty, and seek out existing institution and community supports to adjust to post secondary life.

Monday-Friday 8:30 am-4:30 pm
Must be available for special events on evenings and weekends as required.

Responsibilities:
• Creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for Northwestern Polytechnic students, staff, and visitors at the On Campus Friendship Centre (Room B205)
• Assisting students with various applications as required
• Support students in meeting their day to day needs through offering support, referrals and guidance
• Working closely with the Elder(s) in Residence on Campus and the NWP Indigenous Liaison to support students in reaching their academic and personal goals
• Supporting the Circle of Indigenous Students in hosting monthly celebrations and championing Indigenous culture

Qualifications:
• Human Services Diploma/Administrative Diploma
• Organizational skills
• Experience working well on a team and individual setting
• Proficient computer skills
• Provide current Criminal Record Check and Child and Youth Intervention check
• Class 5 driver’s license

Requirements:
• Clear Criminal Record Check
• Clear Child and Youth Intervention check
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

As the first point of contact, it is essential that the On-Campus Outreach Worker have exemplary phone and communication skills.
