Preschool Teacher – PUF Supports

Hours of employment is Monday to Thursday; 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, excluding school closure dates.

 

This position is considered a Contract position for the 2025-2026 school year.

 

Grande Prairie Friendship Centre Aboriginal Head Start Program has an opening for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Early Childcare Educator who will offer speech supports to children 3-5 in partnership with the Grande Prairie Public School District. This position is for this coming school year. 

 

Qualifications:

• Child Care certification; Level 1, 2 or 3 is preferred

• Valid First Aid certification

• Cleared Criminal Record Check (CRIM) and Child and Child Intervention Check (CYIM)

• Have working knowledge and/or experience of speech and language services and supports, or willing to learn

• Comfortable working with families and referring agencies with children needing extra supports

• Experience working with children in a childcare setting

• Ability to work independently or in a team environment

• Warm and empathetic attitude towards children and families 

• Actively encourages and engages in meaningful interactions with children 

• Conducts self professionally as an individual, within a team and with families

• Has knowledge and appreciation of the Indigenous culture
