About Reaching Home
Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy is a federal program supporting community-based efforts to prevent and reduce homelessness across Canada.

The Indigenous stream recognizes the unique experiences of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples and supports culturally relevant, distinctions-based approaches grounded in Indigenous knowledge and self-determination.

Community Leadership
Empowering Paths is guided by Miyo-Pimatisiwin, the Indigenous Homelessness Community Advisory Board (IH-CAB), meaning “A Good Life.”

The board provides leadership and community-based decision-making to ensure priorities align with Indigenous values, cultural teachings, and community needs.

Our Commitment
Through collaboration, cultural guidance, and Indigenous leadership, Empowering Paths supports pathways toward:
-
Housing
-
Wellness
-
Belonging
-
Self-determined futures
for Indigenous peoples experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
