Qualifications and Requirements:

Standard First Aid with CPR
-
3-month current and clear Criminal Record Check and Children & Youth Intervention Check
-
Class 5 license with reliable transportation
-
Strong planning skills
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Strong organizational skills
-
Ability to work independently or in a team situation.

Possess leadership skills working with different types of clients
-
Understanding of STBBI’s and best practices
-
Understanding of Indigenous Culture
Responsibilities
-
The position will be under the Northern Indigenous Health Alliance program and will work closely with the Cultural Navigator to follow the PHAC workplan SMART goals
-
The Outreach Worker will help provide STBBI related programming, testing days, access to STBBI Harm reduction supplies and one on one support for community members within the GPFC Programs as well as in partnership with Community agencies

The Outreach Worker will assist the Cultural Navigator with planning and implementing STBBI related events, cultural camps, and sharing circles

The Outreach Worker will assist with additional tasks such as assisting with community meetings, presentations, reporting, and assisting with cultural teachings
