Our
Story
The Community Kitchen is a welcoming, inclusive space where everyone is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. In partnership with The Salvation Army, and supported by the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre, our mission is simple: to ensure no one in our community goes hungry.
We provide three hot, nutritious meals a day, Monday to Friday, serving individuals and families from Grande Prairie and the surrounding area. For many, the Community Kitchen is more than a place to eat — it's a place to feel safe, supported, and connected.

Every meal we serve is rooted in the values of community, culture, and friendship. We believe food has the power to bring people together, honour traditions, and strengthen the bonds within our community. With rising need, our kitchen now serves over 2,000 meals each month, offering comfort and consistency to those who rely on this essential service.

Whether someone is experiencing food insecurity, facing difficult times, or simply needing a warm meal and a kind atmosphere, the Community Kitchen is here with an open door and an open heart.

Through the support of donors, partners like The Salvation Army, and dedicated volunteers, we continue to nourish our community — one meal at a time.

"I come to the Community Kitchen because of Audrey, that was my mom. My mom use to come here a lot and found comfort in being here and enjoying a warm meal. Being here reminds me of her and makes me feel close to her.
— Tanis

"It's nice to know that we can come here when it's hard to make ends meet and we know we're going to get the support we need.
— Robyn, Nikki, Brittaney and Tiny
