Contract Student Gardener Position
12-week term @ 15 hours per week with 1 available position
Starting June 16, 2025-August 29, 2025
Qualifications:
To apply for this job, you must:

Be aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job

Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN); and

Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
International students and other temporary residents of Canada are not eligible.

18+ year old individuals require a 3-month current and clear Criminal Record Check and Children & Youth Intervention check

18 + Class 5 license with reliable transportation

Excellent communication skills
-
Strong organizational skills
-
Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

Ability to work independently or in a team environment

Standard First Aid with CPR is an asset
-
Understanding of botany is an asset
-
Understanding of Indigenous Culture is an asset
Responsibilities:
-
The position will be under the supervisor of the Garden Committee Chair.

The Gardener will be responsible for the daily care of the Traditional Garden and follow daily task list and lawn maintenance of the grounds.

The Gardener may be required to dig, move, lift, and build items in relation to the Traditional Healing Garden.

The Gardener will assist with additional tasks such as assisting with community events, traditional medicine picking, and oversee volunteers.
